BLACKROCKS’ CHAMPION COFFEE AND CHAMPION LIL’ RED D.O.Y. 2017

BLACKROCKS’ CHAMPION COFFEE AND CHAMPION LIL’ RED D.O.Y. 2017

Blackrocks Kennels’ Lil’ Red and COFFEE were both part of A litter of nine, resulting from the breeding between Blackrocks Kennels’ Nitro – a two time winner that also lost one game out of Duran’s Royer and Fiona – and Blackrocks Kennels’ Lil’ Candy, a bitch out of Champion Comino and Grand Champion Candy. Both Nitro an d Lil’ Candy are proven producers of good, honest bulldogs. Besides CH Cofee and CH Lil’ Red – out of Lil’ Candy – Nitro has produced two more champions sofar – CH Fatboy, CH Miss Black…but that ‘s another story. Let’s stick to the topic…

Coffee, a black male – hence the name – was given to Steven, a friend of mine, as a pup. Well, Steven kept Coffee on his yard and when the dog turned 11 months he decided to gave the dog a short bump and
he looked very good that day. After a six months break Steven decided to give Coffee another bump – this time in an event held in another state, attended by several dogmen. Well, Coffee was rolled two times that day and it was just clear as day that he was ready for the hunt…

Coffee’s first official show was part of an international convention – attended by many household names – where he won in 1:00. Coffee’s second was also part of a big international convention. After some talk with my partner, I have been given the task of conditioning Coffee. The keep went well and Coffee was in an excellent shape that day. Strong like an ox, looking like a million bucks. He was dancing like Mayweather,
staying in total control which – of course – frustrated his opponent to no end…making Coffee a two time winner eventually. That day Lil’ Red also won…all in all it was a good day! Several months after his second win – and a forfeit collected – Coffee was finally hooked for his third. We had to travel to another country, but in spite of the travel we still had confidence and trust in each other. And it paid off in the end. Coffee showed to be really smart, playing defense with style and a lot of heart. Naturally, we were really happy for our Champion Coffee, who won two times in 2017 and collected a forfeit as well.

Lil’ Red was – kind of – my pick of the litter as he stayed with me from the beginning! He was a really nice puppy and a natural nose dog, which was obvious from his early school days. After graduation, we jumped in with
both feet and hooked Lil’ Red into D. Burton and his Salt dog. From the very beginning I knew it won’t be an easy one – keep in mind that Salt won B.I.S. before and was a monster – but, I just had to do it. I was right, it was a war, but Lil’ Red and showed what heart he has and won in 1:20. A week after winning his first, Lil’ Red was hooked into Revelation Kennels and their one time winner Hatchet dog. When show time came, we were ready, but unfortunately Revelation Kennels decided to pay the forfeit. There were rumors about a two time winner monster dog called Bullet, a grandson of BMW’s Champion Bullet, so I gave T.T.K. a call and after some talk back and forth, the show was set. The day of the dance came quickly and it was a good one. They both were talented dancers, but once again, Lil’ Red’s heart and style made the difference. We won in 44. After winning Lil’ Red’s second show I made several calls, trying to hook Red for his championship, but nobody wanted a piece of him. Finally we managed to hook Red into D.R.K. and their two time winner Gringo, a dog line bred on Sommer’s Heavy D – mostly through Blackrocks Kennels’ Angel. Well, we won in 51 and Gringo showed to be a true dead game dog. Of course, I’m not able to see the future – I guess no one can – but right now I’m happy with Lil’ Red and I’ll bred my best bitches to Red and hope for the best. I’d like to thank my team for all their hard work and effort: Mostro, Profe, Carlos, Chino, Steven and his son, Juanito, Pollo, Heman, Mr. R. Morales, Ider, Gio, Andres, Frank and Frankli. We at Blackrocks are friends first and a team second.
